3M is seeking an Account Executive for the Health Information Systems Division located in the Northeast Region.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Today, hospitals and healthcare providers face Health Information System challenges in many areas, meaningful use, payment reform, avoidable cost, population health just to start the list. 3M Health Information Systems division is looking for an ambitious and tenacious sales representative to build new relationships and work with existing clients to deliver systems, services and applications to help providers access, compile, code, report, store, and exchange the health information they need.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage approximately 30 regional Health Systems Accounts in a geographical region
  • Weekly interaction with clients specifically Executives
  • Complete understanding of all clients’ ongoing short and long term initiatives, success metrics, issues and needs
  • Provide constant diagnostic service to clients including on site workflow, system and operational analysis
  • Educate clients specifically Executives on market trends, clinical and economical regulations and reform
  • Match your deep knowledge of clients to a short and long term solution roadmap with expected value and results creating a trusted high performance partner/advisor relationship
  • Achieves sales objectives by providing independent sales coverage of assigned accounts or within assigned territory
  • Position intended for individuals experienced in software and consulting sales and who have demonstrated effective use of selling skills and have consistently achieved or exceeded forecast over a sustained period of time
  • Selling and delivering complex high dollar ($750K+) technology/consulting solutions across multiple departments
  • Successfully be able to position value / benefits with “C level” decision makers
  • Initiate and develop successful selling strategies
  • Plans and manages time and resources for effective coverage of territory, communications, and other responsibilities. Observes all budget guidelines
  • Fully negotiate contracts and close profitable business within the region that protect all expected 3M HIS business unit margins
  • Being able to meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Self-initiative, innovation, continual learning, and personal development
  • Exhibits leadership with accounts, prospects and peers
  • Accepts direction and assumes leadership as appropriate
  • Maintain and build respect among clients, and co-workers 
  • Energetic, and possess an intense sense of urgency
  • Quick pace and constantly raises the bar
  • Position may occasionally be involved with training and mentoring other sales representatives, usually as a co-facilitating role
  • Must live somewhere in the territory
  • This position will require domestic travel 50% of the time

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in sales

  • Seven (7) combined years in healthcare software customer service and/or sales experience
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful hi-tech direct sales experience in the healthcare industry with a strong track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience selling and delivering complex high dollar ($750K+) technology solutions across multiple departments in large hospital systems.
  • Proven ability to position value / benefits with “C level” decision makers; ability to initiate and develop successful selling strategies; ability to fully negotiate contracts and close profitable business within the region that protect all expected 3M HIS business unit margins.
  • Previously held direct sales roles with a well-regarded information solutions, technology services or software business within the healthcare information technology sector.
  • Demonstrable sales success in meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Demonstrate initiative, innovation, continual learning, and personal development.
  • Client-centric in style; respected among their clients who is known and respected throughout the client’s hospital and across the client base.
  • Energetic self-starter who possesses an intense sense of urgency.  Action oriented and results driven. A person with a strong “hands on” and disciplined work ethic. Sets a quick pace and constantly raises the bar for themselves towards higher levels of achievement.

Location: Northeast Region

Sales Territory: NY, CT, NJ

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized;

Preferred Location: North to Northeast Territory

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
